First of all, we need to install the FTC Robot Controller app and Driver Station app onto our phones. Here is the link for the Robot Controller and here is the Driver Station link.
During competitions, a phone with the FTC Robot Controller app will be attached to the robot which displays the status of the robot. You can check the battery on the robot, ping, connection, phone battery, and more. A second phone has the FTC Driver Station that is connected to a robot controller that a driver uses to manuever the robot. This phone just shows robot connection. However, on both phones you can edit settings, restart, modify configurations, and more.
The phones have their own Wi-Fi networks, so in order to access them, press in the upper right hand corner and press "Settings" on the Driver Station phone. Then, check the Driver Station phone and make sure that the "Pairing Method" is "Wi-Fi Direct". After that, on the Robot Controller phone, exit the FTC app and go to the settings app.
Then, find the Wi-Fi and click in the upper right hand corner. Then, click the "Advanced" option. Next, find the "Wi-Fi Direct" option and check to see if there is a 5-digit number in the "Peer devices" section that matches with your team number on the top. Later, go to the Driver Station phone and go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and click on the network that has your team number from the other phone. To find the password for the network, open the Robot Controller app on the Robot Controller phone and press in the upper right hand corner and click "Program and Manage". The password will be displayed, and the phones will be connected.
